Image ideas for my Digipak

These are all images that I have taken from my footage as some starting ideas for the creation of my album. I felt I wouldn't have to re-shoot these images as they are a similar size to the 5 by 5 inch squares of my album dimensions, without causing too much blurring in the image with a distortion of the pixels. All of these images display a care-free nature and a typical 'teenage' persona which I feel is also represented in my music video; effectively linking them both together.

Magazine adverts

All 3 above magazine adverts are from the July 2012 issue of Mojo magazine. I feel Mojo magazine focuses on artists in the indie rock genre like my song and artist, so feel these are good examples to look at when thinking about the creation of my advert. The quality of the image is a main feature of all three of the adverts; dominating almost the entirety of the page in all 3. Both of the artist's names and album titles are displayed on each of the adverts to make it clear to the audience of the adverts purpose. Personally, I feel that the care-free attitude that is often in association with the indie-rock genre is effectively displayed here with the striking contrast of colors and abstract imaging.

Eamples of album covers

Here are some examples of album covers from the indie-rock genre, like my artist. They all seem to contrast with each other in some way; some having both their artist and album name on the cover, some having just the artist or just the album name, and some not displaying any information about the album at all other than the main image. However, with each of the album covers I feel a sense of individuality is being created in some way, whether it is with the use of contrasting, bright colors or the main images that have been used; almost illustrating a sense of teenage freedom and an individual style.
